In 1904, at age thirty-five, love struck an arrow into
Knick and he fell fast into the loving arms of Rose
Pollard. Since the early 1920's, the Knickerbocker Mansion
has stood watch over Big Bear Valley from its perch
on a hillside just south of the village. Join us at
Knickerbocker Mansion for a special dinner followed
by a snowshoe tour or hike under the stars, ending with
a fabulous Knickerbocker dessert.
Rate: $50 per person; 4:00pm-6:30pm
(dinner included, alcohol NOT included - but available
for purchase). Tour meets at Knickerbocker Mansion;

spend Valentine's Day on the beautiful San Bernardino
Mountains! The Discovery Center is offering a special
Valentine Tour. We will be exploring the natural history
of the Big Bear Valley and scenic areas around Big Bear.
A guide will lead you through the forest where you have
the opportunity to observe the living ecology that exists
in the winter. Tour is suitable for both beginners experienced
enthusiasts. Meet at the Big Bear Discovery Center.
The San Bernardino Mountains are the highest range south
of the Sierra Nevada's, and are also unique in being
one of the few transverse ranges in the nation. This
huge and rugged country is filled with history, romantic
legends, and magnificent scenery.

Nature Walks!
Saturdays; 1pm & 2pm
Sundays; 11am & 12pm
Join us for a 30-minute nature walk on Saturdays and
Sundays to learn about the local plant life, wildlife
and some very interesting historical facts. Great activity
for families and individuals who want to gain a greater
appreciation for our National Forest. Nature walks are
not strenuous and designed for all levels of physical
conditioning.

Come celebrate our winter wonderland by playing in it!
The Discovery Center is offering guided snowshoe tours
this winter for visitors and residents to explore scenic
areas around Big Bear Lake. A naturalist will lead you
through the forest where you will learn about winter
ecology and natural history of the Big Bear Valley.
Tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced
enthusiasts. Meet at the Big Bear Discovery Center.
Snowshoes and additional transportation are provided.
